The New York Yankees had no problem dispatching the Minnesota Twins Sunday night with a 4-1 playoff victory of the final game at the Metrodome. The Metrodome has been the home of the Twins for 28 years and two World Series titles in 1987 and 1991, but the team will move into their new home next year at Target Field.
The Los Angeles Angels pulled off a stunning sweep of the Boston Red Sox on Sunday with their first postseason sweep ever, and against a team that they’ve lost against in their last four playoff meetings.
Both teams have four days to prepare for the first A.L. Championship Series on Friday October 16th at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees will host the AL Championship Series Game 2 on Saturday and the series will move to Angel Stadium on for the AL Championship Series Game 3 on Monday, Game 4 on Tuesday, and Game 5 on Thursday. Game 6 and Game 7 will be played in New York on Saturday and Sunday the 24th and 25th if necessary.
