Live Nation will announce today that the first 16 U2 360 tour concerts will be postponed until sometime in 2011 due to the back injury Bono sustained while preparing for the tour. No new dates were announced but you have to expect U2 fans will have to wait until the summer of 2011 because of the use of large outdoor stadiums for the tour.

Bono had to cancel the U2 headlining gig at the Glastonbury festival on June 25 and is said to be out for at least 8 weeks, maybe longer according to Billboard.com. It sounds like Bono had a pretty serious back injury to cancel the entire US portion of his tour, and even the European portion set to start on August 12 at the Olympic Stadium in Rome may be in peril.

Live Nation must be having fits right now trying to figure out what to do with all the tour merchandise that can’t be used now that the U2 tour has been postponed. There are thousands of concert tees, posters and tour programs with the wrong dates already printed for a tour that won’t happen this year.

Tickets for U2 are available for all the U2 360 tour dates in 2011, and U2 fans are encouraged to hold onto their concert tickets until a new round of tour dates for 2011 are announced.

The U2 concert tour machine will start up once again in two weeks on June 3 at the Rice Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City and you can still find tickets for all of the U2 360 concerts. There are still cheap U2 tickets available for most of the venues at $50 and up for a starting price to get in the door. The general admission floor tickets for U2 are fairly cheap at about $111 + per ticket.

The best seats for the U2 concert tour will be in the lower level, either looking straight at the stage from the far end, or from the sides near the stage. Those tickets are still expensive, currently running over $200 + for most of the venues for a decent seat, and up to $500 for the best seats close to the stage in the lower level.

Even though the entire floor is general admission standing room only for all of the U2 concerts, there are a couple of secured sections on both sides of the stage which are “red zone” general admission areas that guarantee you a much closer view of the stage. These general admission red zone tickets are some of the most expensive U2 tickets, running $500 or more per ticket.

U2 fans should be aware of the different prices for the general admission and red zone seating because on most websites selling U2 tickets you’ll find different prices for the same general admission tickets for U2 on the field, and the red zone tickets. They are the same type of ticket so you want to choose the cheapest price for the type of U2 ticket you are looking for. For example: If you see a general admission ticket for $110 and one for $150, take the $110 no matter whether the ticket has a Ga or GA1, they are all the same.

There are still a lot of tickets for U2, but once the concerts get closer the tickets will move quickly, so if you’re thinking of seeing U2 live in concert, you better move on it soon, before the best seats are sold out!

Buy U2 tickets now for all of the U2 concert tour dates!

U2 has added June 3rd at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City to the 360 tour schedule for 2010 and tickets for the concert go on sale on Feb. 22. You can expect the same starship stage with the massive sound and video, and the round stage with mostly unobstructed views.

The floor in front of the U2 stage will be general admission standing room only with reserved seats in the stands. If you haven’t seen this tour, it’s not one to miss. Tickets for U2 are reasonable priced at the face value, but expect the best seats to sell quickly.

The best view for the U2 concert may be the seats in the lower level because of the shear number of people in the general admission floor area. Even the 2nd level seating for many of the stadiums should give a good view of the stage and big screens. At least you won’t have to stand for several hours. But if you want to get close to the stage, the general admission seats for U2 are the way to go.
