Thanksgiving week is a great time to get together with family and friends and there are many things you can all do together besides just sitting around and eating turkey. There are a number of great live holiday shows during the holidays throughout the country in theatres and arenas.

Some of the most popular are the theatre shows such as Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Wicked the Musical, The Jersey Boys, and White Christmas.

Mannheim Steamroller will be touring this holiday season, bringing their Christmas sounds and multimedia effects to the stage. This is the 25th Anniversary of the first Mannheim Steamroller Christmas album and they have sold over 356 million albums under the direction of Chip Davis. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra have a unique Christmas sound as well, with a rock n roll over the top lazer light show to dazzle the audience. If it’s sports the family is interested in then there’s the three football games on Thanksgiving day with the Green Bay Packers vs the Detroit Lions at Ford Field, the Oakland Raiders vs the Dallas Cowboys at Cowboy Stadium and the New York Giants vs the Denver Broncos at Invesco Field. There are plenty of NFL tickets and games available for these games and the entire weekend.

Trans Siberian Orchestra tickets are now on sale for the 2009 Winter Tour. TSO has a new double-album coming out on October 27th called Night Castle, and many of the new songs will undoubtedly be played on this tour.

Trans Siberian Orchestra brings a whole new dimension to songs from the holidays, playing their own renditions of Christmas classics that bring new life to the songs. Backed by a seasoned group of musicians and a couple of narrators, Trans Siberian Orchestra is split into two bands that tour simultaneously. They have a stunning display of lasers and lights that previously have only been found at Pink Floyd concerts and add a great visual light show to the production.

The Trans Siberian Orchestra was started in 1996 by Paul O’Neill, a former producer for rock bands such as Humble Pie, Aerosmith and the Scorpians. Paul enlisted the help of some friends, Robert Kinkel and Savatage lead singer Jon Oliva and released their most popular album, Christmas Eve and Other Stories, which has proved to be their most popular album so far.

Concert tours on sale this week include a host of dates for the Kiss Alive 35 concert tour that will kick off at the Cobo Arena in Detroit, Michigan, on Friday September 25th and continuing through December 5th at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Kiss will be in full costume for this tour and they’ll be playing hits from their new album, Sonic Boom , due out on October 6th.

You know it’s getting close to the holidays when you start seeing tour dates for The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, and Dave Koz, A Smooth Jazz Christmas on sale. The perennial concert tour by the Trans Siberian Orchestra Winter Tour will be kicking off this weekend with the first show at the newly renamed Covelli Centre in Youngstown, Ohio and ending at the Allstate Arena on December 26th.

Some of the other artists adding concert dates to their tour include: Kelly Clarkson, The Stone Temple Pilots, Bill Cosby, and sure to be a favorite for children everywhere, Disney on Ice Princess Classics.
