Carrie Underwood has been announced as the performer picked to sing the National Anthem at the upcoming Super Bowl at Sun Life Stadium in South Florida on Sunday, Feb 7th. “America the Beautiful” will be sung by Queen Latifah during the pregame festifities that should be watched by over 150 million viewers.

The Who will perform during the Super Bowl half time show and should provide a healthy dose of rock n roll to the Super Bowl. There are a few Super Bowl Fan Jam concerts, the first concert will be on Thursday February 4th with Rhianna and Justin Bieber. On Friday Nelly Furtado and Paulina Rubio will warm up the Super Bowl crowd in South Florida.

The Who’s Roger Daltrey is going on a solo tour of the states to keep in shape until the next time his pal Pete Townshend decides to hit the road with the Who. Roger will be playing small venues and mixing up his set list with some classic Who songs, solo material, and a few cover songs from some of his favorite bands.

Daltrey will be kicking off the tour at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver on October 10th for an eight week run that ends in Clearwater, Florida on November 30th. Joining Roger on stage will be Pete Townshend’s younger brother Simon Townshend, along with guitarist and musical director Frank Simes, drummer Scott Devours, bassist Jon Button and keyboardist Loren Gold.
