Fans can find two of the best jam bands performing on New Years Eve with Phish at Madison Square Garden and Furthur at the Bill Graham Civic. But the difference in popularity of the bands is evident in both the size of the venues and the resell price of the tickets for each show. Phish are performing at New York’s Madison Square Garden with a sold out concert of almost 20,000 and single ticket prices on the resell market starting at $294 and up while Furthur are at the 7,000 seat Bill Graham Civic in San Francisco with general admission ticket prices starting at $102 per person.

And Phish fans won’t get much of a break for the Friday night show either with ticket prices of $266 and up. The 12/30 Furthur concert is not sold out at the box office at this time and ticket brokers have the price down to $59 and up for the general admission tickets. These are the only concerts on the schedule for Phish but Furthur have a 3 day run at the Wang Theatre in Boston followed by an evening at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford and capped off with 8 nights at the Beacon Theatre in New York.

The 2011 Phish tour will begin on Memorial Day weekend with a three night stand at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. The band announced a limited number of summer concerts and will be adding more Phish concert dates in the coming weeks.

The summer tour dates for Phish will be the only touring the band will do in 2011 so it remains to be seen if they still perform a Halloween concert this year. Phish tickets will be on sale at the usual outlets and fans can always find tickets for Phish at PreferredSeat.com.

The Phish presale for their Fall tour will end today at noon eastern time and that will end Phish fans best chance of getting a Halloween Phish ticket for Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall at face value.  The presale is being offered at Phish.portals.musictoday.com.

The Phish Halloween concerts  are their most popular with the band getting in costume and performing a full album of one of their favorite bands. The demand for the Phish shows, especially the Halloween performance will make it impossible for everyone ordering in advance from getting tickets. Just too many requests for too few tickets for Phish.

So a majority of those Phish fans will end up looking on the internet for a Phish ticket and find the prices a bit scary compared to the original face value. At least Phish are performing for three nights at the Boardwalk Hall so if you miss getting tickets for the Halloween Phish concert you have other options as well.
