The New York Yankees defeated the Los Angles Angels tonight 5-2 to move on to face the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series starting this Wednesday October 28th at Yankee Stadium in New York. The Phillies have had some extra time off to prepare for the Yankees and will start left-hander Cliff Lee in the first game of the World Series.
The World Series schedule calls for the first two games to be played in New York at Yankee Stadium, followed by three games in Philadelphia at Citizens Park on October 31s, November 1st and 2nd. Then the teams travel back to New York for games 6 and 7 at Yankee Stadium if necessary.

Angels Win Game 5 – Yankees Prepare for Game 6 Saturday at Yankee Stadium
by Greg Cullen on Oct.22, 2009, under Entertainment News, Sports News
The World Series will have to wait for another day after the Los Angeles Angels rallied in the seventh to hold off the Yankees and send the game back to Yankee Stadium this Saturday.
The Yankees piled up six runs in the seventh to take the lead, but the Angels came back with three of their own to take the 7-6 lead that would hold up for the remainder of the game. Game 6 of the World Series will be on Saturday, October 24th at Yankee Stadium, followed by Game 7 on Sunday, if necessary.
Tickets for the New York Yankees – Los Angeles Angels playoff game 6 are running just over a $100 a ticket and up just after the game 5 ended, and I would expect game 6 to sell fast with the expectation of winning and going on to the World Series.

It was a long night for both teams with the game stretching out into the 13th inning after Alex Rodriguez hit the tying homer in the 11th. And what a night it was, with the cold and rain beating down the game ended just after 1a.m.
