This weekend is a great weekend to get a cheap seat for a sporting event. Major League Baseball is winding down the season and many teams have cheap baseball tickets for this weekends games. Check with the Los Angeles Angels, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies for discount tickets, or try any of the MLB Baseball teams as they wind down the season and get ready for the MLB playoffs.

Cheap football tickets are available for most of the NFL preseason games with tickets selling for half price or less at many stadiums for games such as the St Louis Cardinals vs the Green Bay Packers, or the Denver Broncos against the Chicago Bears this Sunday.

You can find plenty of music this weekend including concerts by bands such as the Allman Brothers Band at the Comcast Center in Boston, Britney Spears, Blink 182 and American Idols Live.

And if it is theater you are looking for, you can always find great theatre tickets for something in New York, San Francisco or Los Angeles, so check out the Jersey Boys, Legally Blonde or Billy Elliott.

Major League Baseball is not immune to the downturn in the economy, especially the teams with new stadiums to pay for such as the New York Mets and New York Yankees. The New York Times recently reported about the problems season ticket holders are having this year getting rid of their extra games that in the past were a “no brainer”.

Of course both of these teams are playing in new ballparks, the Mets at Citi Field and the Yankees at the New Yankee Stadium, and the prices have been jacked up to pay for the new stadiums so the profit margin has shrunk dramatically, even without the recession.

Baseball tickets at a bargain!

Most of the other teams are struggling as well. The Tampa Bay Rays hosted the World Champion Philadelphia Phillies last week and Tropicana Field was only half full according to the website Philly.com. And you can look at ticket prices for most of the other teams in the secondary market and get baseball tickets for less than face value for many of the games.
