The AL Central Tiebreaker game last night between the Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins ended in overtime, with the Minnesota Twins winning the 6-5 victory in the 12th inning, sending the Twins to the New Yankee Stadium for the first game of the American League Division Series against the New York Yankees tonight.

The Yankees have the home field advantage as well as playing the weakest opponent in the playoffs, and should best the Twins in both pitching and hitting. After losing 13 of the last 17 playoff games, the Yankees need these wins badly. The National League games that begin today include the Colorado Rockies visiting the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.
