National Finals Rodeo tickets are on sale for all of the events at the 2009 NFR in Las Vegas from December 3-12, and you don’t want to miss this exciting event. The National Finals Rodeo is the final rodeo event of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association season and is held at the Thomas & Mack Center on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus.

The Super Bowl of Rodeo as it’s called, features the awarding of World Championship Titles in a number of rodeo events including:

* Bareback Riding
* Steer Wrestling – or Bull Dogging
* Team Roping –
Headers – Cowboys who rope the steer’s head
Heelers – Cowboys who rope the steer’s hind feet
* Saddle Bronc Riding
* Tie-Down Roping – or Calf Roping
* Barrel Racing
* Bull Riding

The NFR is being held on December 3-12 this year and it is a huge event in Las Vegas with casinos joining in with special parties, live video feeds and events throughout the city just for the NFR. Entertainers on hand in Las Vegas for the NFR include Brooks and Dunn at the Las Vegas Hilton on 12/4 – 12/6 as part of their final tour together. Comedian Bill Engvall will be at the Treasure Island Theatre for both weekends of the event on December 3rd and 4th and the 10th and 11th.

Some of the events during the NFR include the 63rd Annual PRCA National Convention and Trade Show, the Miss Rodeo America Pageant, autograph sessions and silent auctions. Check out the complete NFR event schedule for all of the NFR sanctioned events.

Garth Brooks made an announcement today from the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas that he would be playing a few select weekends beginning December 11th in the Wynn’s Encore Theater. With Steve Wynn by his side, Garth talked about his excitement in playing in a strictly music hall, compared to the many huge sports stadiums and arenas he has played in the past.

Tickets for Garth Brooks first five weekends go on sale on October 24th and are priced at $125 each at the box office and Ticketmaster. Expect the shows to sell out quickly, so if you can’t get the seats you want, you can still check with a Garth Brooks ticket broker for guaranteed seats in the front rows.

The contract calls for Garth to play select weekends over a five year period with some special guests performing with Garth as well. Garth will be flown by private jet from his home in Oklahoma where he has spent the last nine years raising his three daughters.

Barry Manilow is getting out of Las Vegas for a few shows on the road this year and bringing all of his hits with him. Barry has been holding court at the Las Vegas Hilton Theater but he has been adding dates outside of Vegas through December of this year.

Barry will be bringing the “ULTIMATE MANILOW: The Hits… and then some”, including Copacabana and Can’t Smile Without You, to the PNC Bank Center and the Mohegan Sun this month, then the Arco Arena, Spokane Arena and Hollywood Bowl in November, followed by two nights at the Rosemont Theater in Illinois.
