Dolphin Stadium Home to NFL Pro Bowl and Super Bowl 2010

by on Jan.18, 2010, under Sports News

Dolphin Stadium, the former Land Shark Stadium in Miami Dade County, Florida will be the home to the NFL Pro Bowl on Sunday January 31st and again the following Sunday February 7th for Super Bowl 2010. The hotels will be booked solid for the week as NFL fans flock from the colder climates up north to spend a couple of weekends with NFL football games and the sun and beaches of South Florida.Dolphin Stadium NFL Pro Bowl and Super Bowl 2010 Tickets

The Miami Dolphins NFL team and the Florida Marlins MLB team play their home games at Dolphin Stadium, but neither can match the excitement of an NFL Pro Bowl game and Super Bowl. The Pro Bowl is making it’s first appearance outside of Hawaii in thirty years, but moving it one week before the Super Bowl may keep some of the players from the upcoming Super Bowl on the sidelines.

Dolphin Stadium has hosted five Super Bowls over the years, just with different names on the building. In the 1989 and 1995 Super Bowls, it was called Joe Robbie Stadium, then in the 1999 Super Bowl the name on the stadium was Pro Player Stadium. The stadium didn’t have a sponsor for the naming rights in 2007 and it was simply called Dolphin Stadium.

And to add to the confusion, Land Shark Stadium was the name given in 2008, then back to Dolphin Stadium in 2009, and now just in time for the NFL Pro Bowl and Super Bowl 2010 the naming rights are going to Sun Life Financial with the new name Sun Life Stadium.

Remember the good old days when the stadium name didn’t change every few years? If you’re looking for Super Bowl 2010 tickets and Pro Bowl 2010 tickets you can find them from the best place to buy an NFL Super Bowl ticket at Preferred Seating Tickets, with the most competitive Super Bowl ticket prices and reliability since 1987.
