Elton John and Leon Russell Tour to Support “The Union”
by admin on Oct.20, 2010, under Entertainment News
Elton John is touring with Leon Russell who he admired as a young musician and had played with briefly many years ago. The two just performed together last night at the Beacon Theatre for 2 1/2 hours and performed their new album “The Union” in its entirety and many of their own hits.
Elton John and Leon Russell were backed by T-Bone Burnett’s fifteen-piece studio band and with the two playing piano the night music was perfect. Leon Russell performed several of his hits including “Tight Rope” and “Roll in My Sweet Baby’s Arms” while Elton John performed several Leon Russell inspired songs including “Burn Down the Mission” and “Levon”.
The new studio album by the two “The Union” is getting rave reviews and resurrecting the music of Leon Russell at the same time. With all the retread tours out there this looks like a show that will bring fresh new songs to fans that are starved for a show they have not seen before, and this is it.
Elton John and Leon Russell tickets are on sale now for the limited number of concerts already announced. There should be more tour dates announced soon.

Elton John Tickets Released to Expensive Packages
by admin on Jun.28, 2010, under Entertainment News
Elton John’s sold out concert at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe Amphitheater has suddenly found new tickets available, in overpriced Silver and Gold Premium seats. The tickets the promoters released to the general public in the past are now finding their way into premium ticket packages, months after the tickets originally went on sale, and sold out.
The Elton John tickets released through the packages were not even very good seats, especially for the price of $310 + $32.8 service charge. But for the Elton John fans, as with most concert fans, Live Nation and Ticketmaster have decided to further limit the number of tickets released to the general public at face value.
At this time at least 50% of the concert tickets sold never go through the general public onsale . Most tickets are held by the promoter, artist, venue, etc and then others packaged with a fan club purchase or premium seat packages at extremely high prices.
Now Live Nation and Ticketmaster are sinking to a new level by taking concert tickets that are held back and released later and they are packaging them instead for a greater return on each concert ticket.
Artists such as Elton John better start saving and cutting back, the gravy train has already run out of steam and the better deals can be found in most cases at ticket brokers who have been selling many tickets below face value in poor performing markets and concerts.
