Concert Fans Not the Only Ones with High Ticket Prices

by admin on Jul.26, 2010, under Entertainment News, Sports News

Concert fans have been staying away from many of this summer’s concerts because of the high concert ticket prices that have become the norm because of the Live Nation and Ticketmaster merger. But sports fans may be staying away as well if the NBA and NFL cannot get the players and owners to lower their expectations.

The music industry is paying now for narrow minded folks in charge of Live Nation and Ticketmaster and the fact that they have been overpaying artists with their 360 deals that put the burden on the fans to pay for them. These guys assumed that fans would take to the high prices but they were dead wrong and now everyone in the industry is suffering.

The same may soon hold true for professional sports as well as contracts for the NBA and NFL both expire within the next few years and neither side looks like they will be willing to budge. For the average fan they cannot tell who is greedier, the owners or the players.

But what is apparent is that they expect the fans to pay for everything they want. The clubs expect the fans to pay for expensive contracts with psl’s, sky high ticket prices and outrageous concession prices. The average fan at the new Yankee Stadium and Cowboys Stadium must have plenty of disposable income to afford to go to see the Yankees and Cowboys play live.

At some point sports fans will rebel just like the concert fans are doing now. And as we found out in Sacramento, when you overprice your tickets and the team tanks, many of the fans that supported you for years will never come back as season ticket holders. In fact, many never come back at all.

With cheap big screen high definition screens out there it’s not hard to imagine many more sports fans canceling their season tickets when the new jacked up ticket prices come through with the next invoice.

Just sitting at home is free, with the $1 beer and a clean restroom.

Someone needs to pull their head out of the sand before it’s too late and they start switching all pro sports to pay per view to cover the empty stadiums and lack of revenue. But the fans will always have a sports ticket broker to turn to when the ticket prices drop, at least they are there to keep the market in check.

Thanksgiving Holiday Means Turkey, Football, Wicked and Christmas Concerts

by admin on Nov.18, 2009, under Entertainment News, Music News, Sports News

Thanksgiving week is a great time to get together with family and friends and there are many things you can all do together besides just sitting around and eating turkey. There are a number of great live holiday shows during the holidays throughout the country in theatres and arenas.

Some of the most popular are the theatre shows such as Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Wicked the Musical, The Jersey Boys, and White Christmas.

Mannheim Steamroller will be touring this holiday season, bringing their Christmas sounds and multimedia effects to the stage. This is the 25th Anniversary of the first Mannheim Steamroller Christmas album and they have sold over 356 million albums under the direction of Chip Davis. Mannheim Steamroller tickets are available for all the cities on the tour including the Gammage Auditorium, Nokia Theatre LA Live , and more.

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra have a unique Christmas sound as well, with a rock n roll over the top lazer light show to dazzle the audience. The Trans Siberian Orchestra may be a little too loud for some with the electric guitars, but most will enjoy the renditions of Christmas classics and original material. Trans Siberian Orchestra tickets can be purchased online for the HP Pavilion, Toyota Center, Allstate Arena and many more.NFL Football Santa

If it’s sports the family is interested in then there’s the three football games on Thanksgiving day with the Green Bay Packers vs the Detroit Lions at Ford Field, the Oakland Raiders vs the Dallas Cowboys at Cowboy Stadium and the New York Giants vs the Denver Broncos at Invesco Field. There are plenty of NFL tickets and games available for these games and the entire weekend.

Radio City Christmas Spectacular tickets, Wicked the Musical tickets, the Jersey Boys tickets and White Christmas tickets are on sale now online.

Ticket Deals This Week Include Springsteen Tickets and U2 Tickets

by admin on Sep.28, 2009, under Discount Ticket Deals, Entertainment News, Music News

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be playing at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, this Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and there are still plenty of tickets available for all the concerts.

The best ticket prices for the cheap seats are available on Friday night, which has the most inventory of tickets on sale, followed by the Wednesday night show. There are no front row seats for the Springsteen tour since all of the floor seating is general admission, standing room only. But for several of the shows you can buy general admission Springsteen tickets for less than the face value at Ticketmaster.

With the high unemployment rate in the New Jersey area it’s no wonder ticket sales are down a bit, but that’s good for the consumer because now you can see a great concert by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band at a discounted price. Bruce and the band will be back at Giants Stadium on October 8th and 9th, then over to the Wachovia Center on the 13th, 14th, 19th and 20th of October.

The U2 tour makes a stop at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, Virginia, this Wednesday, October 1st and like Springsteen the floor seats for U2 are all general admission and on sale for less than the face value of U2 Tickets at Ticketmaster, running $35 for general admission U2 tickets at the time of this post.

There are some very good seats available for U2 in the lower level near the stage, but if you want to stand in front of the stage, you better get there very early! You can catch U2 at the new Cowboy Stadium on October 12th, and the Rose Bowl on October 25th as well as a few other tour dates before they wind up the US portion of their tour.
