Taxes on sports, taxes on concerts, what’s next?

The country is really going to the dogs when we start taxing an already overpriced product such as sports and event tickets. With the price of tickets at an all time high at the same time we are in the midst of a terrible recession, politicians have been searching for new revenue streams and they’ve taken dead aim at your entertainment dollars.

New York is looking to tax everything fun including concerts, bowling, golf, theater, swimming, boxing, amusement parks and more! While New York City wants to tax Broadway, adding an additional 8% to the already struggling Broadway Theater shows.

California’s Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is looking to tax sports events and golf, including many services such as repairs to appliances, furniture and autos, veterinary care and amusement parks as they go through the same problems other states such as New York that have growing deficits.
