It seems from a recent article that Live Nation has a policy for venues and service charges that is different than what we have come to expect at the venue. From the article, Dave Gerardi, market manager and vice president of Live Nation mentions the different methods of obtaining tickets for the upcoming Coldplay concert. In and interview with Kevin Johnson at STLtoday.com For venue sales we’re told, “There’s no service charge at the box office the first week of sales. Service charges are comparable to Ticketmaster service charges.”

The big difference here is there never were service charges at the box office before. That was the one place you could get away from the service charges of Ticketmaster, but I assume all the Live Nation owned venues will be doing the same thing. Another blow to the consumer trying to save money.
