by admin on Feb.09, 2010, under Entertainment News

Valentine’s Day is this Sunday and there’s still plenty of last minute gift ideas for this coming weekend if you don’t already have plans. Hopefully the weather has cleared up a bit by then so travel isn’t a problem in your area.

If you haven’t seen Wicked the Musical, or even if you have, you can still find tickets for Wicked at several theaters around the country including the Gerswhin Theatre, Orpheum Theatre – San Francisco, David A Stratz Center – Carol Morsani Hall and the Peace Center in Greenville, SC.

The Winter Games in Vancouver begin on Friday with the Opening Ceremonies followed by Ice Hockey, Freestyle Skiing, Speed Skating, Figure Skating, Alpine Skiing and many more events for Valentines Day weekend. Tickets for the Opening Ceremony and most of the Winter Games Events are available now and are in hand and ready to ship overnight.

More ideas  for this coming weekend include tickets for the NBA All Star game on Valentines Day at Cowboys Stadium, the AMA Supercross at Angel Stadium, The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo and a number of NBA basketball games and NHL hockey games around the country.

Concerts this Valentines Day weekend are very limited in number but include some heavy hitters such as Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, Billy Joel and Elton John and the Black Eyed Peas. There’s even more theatre going on this weekend that make for a great romantic weekend including the Jersey Boys, Billy Elliot and the Color Purple at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles.

Grammy Winners on Tour – Does it Help Concert Ticket Sales?

by admin on Feb.03, 2010, under Entertainment News

Many of the winners of this years Grammy Awards are currently touring or will be touring soon and most of the artist are hoping the added attention helps their live concert ticket sales. The revenue from concert tours is becoming much more important now that cd sales are so low, and every bit of advertising such as the popular Grammy Awards can make a difference in ticket sales.

One of the biggest winners at this years Grammy Awards was Taylor Swift. Taylor walked away with Album of the Year and three more awards and she is currently on an already sold out concert tour that begins on March 4th in Tampa Florida. Even though the “Fearless Tour” is sold out through Ticketmaster, you can still find a huge selection of Taylor Swift tickets on the secondary market. The ticket prices for Taylor Swift are very high reflecting the demand for her first major arena tour, and as the tour dates draw closer it remains to be seen whether the prices will go up or down.Beyonce tickets and Beyonce tour schedule

Beyonce was the clear winner on Grammy night as she took home a record six Grammy Awards including Song of the Year with “Single Ladies”. Beyonce recently finished touring and her sold out shows never needed any help anyway.

Lady Gaga was also a winner and a performer at the Grammies with two awards including Best Dance Recording. She is just finishing up a hugely successful tour of small venues and will likely be jumping to arena shows on the next tour.  Tickets for Lady Gaga are currently unavailable but expect quick sellouts the next time she tours.
