Common Sense and the Bonuses for Losers at AIG
by admin on Mar.17, 2009, under Business News
It’s hard for those of us that hear the crap coming out of execs and professionals that have been telling us that the AIG bonuses are necessary to keep quality talent to continue running the company. What I don’t understand is how they can say such things with a straight face.
Most of us were taught common sense at an early age and logically assume bonuses are paid for exceptional work, above and beyond the ordinary. But in the world of AIG and a lot of other corporations we are finding out, bonuses are guaranteed salary, payable even if those receiving them are losers.
Losers because they screwed up, and not just a little screw up, the mother of all screw ups. And for this they demand the bonuses that were put in place last year, when they already knew they had screwed up.
I say we all start taking any money we have invested, held or even companies we do business with, and move to those that don’t pay bonuses for losers and have a fair and equitable pay scale for both employees and executives. And fire all the losers; there are plenty of qualified workers out there now that the losers have screwed up their jobs.
