The NBA Fans 40-40-20 Plan

by on Nov.18, 2011, under Sports News

The NBA players may have decided to take a hike rather than a smaller slice of the NBA revenue pie but the fans would like both sides to consider their plan for the future of the NBA. Rather than a 50-50 split or 48-52 or whatever the current argument is over, the fans would like to propose a 40-40-20 split where the greedy owners and players give up 10% each to lower ticket prices and to get the fans interested in the live game again.

What the players are ignoring while chasing their almighty dollar is that the fans are the ones that have to come up with the dough to pay for the mansions, cars and jewelry and in these tough economic conditions and fancy big screen high definition televisions, we may just decide to stay home when you come back to play. Think about it. Who controls the money flow but the NBA season ticket holders and single game buyers.

Give the NBA players and owners their year off, but demand a 40-40-20 split for the fans to get a break for once, and they may have to bow to that demand if the fans took the second year off for themselves. At no time has it been more important for NBA owners and players to listen to the fans and look at the stats. Fewer fans are attending live events because of the rising prices, poor economic conditions and fantastic televisions that make it seem like your at the game, at a fraction of the price.  I’ve got mine fired up.
