Sticker Shock with Baseball Championship Ticket Prices

Going from the Division Series games to the Championship Series is a big step towards the World Series and also a big jump in ticket prices as baseball fans are finding out. Back on October 8th we reported that the best time to buy tickets for the MLB Championship Series was last week, before the teams advanced.
Now that the San Francisco Giants are set for a National League Division Championship Series against the Philadelphia Phillies the prices have gone up. In fact San Francisco Giants tickets spiked right after they beat the Braves on Monday night when ticket sales went through the roof and by morning some Giants playoff tickets had jumped $100 or more. Tickets for the Giants playoff games are currently running about $140 and up with the best seats at over $300 per seat.
The Philadelphia Phillies ticket prices are some of the most expensive baseball playoff tickets with the cheap standing room only (SRO) seats priced at $170 per seat. Like the Giants they do have seats running up to $1000 or more per ticket.
The New York Yankees will be playing the Texas Rangers starting this Friday at Rangers Stadium and the Texas Rangers have the cheapest baseball playoff ticket prices with $90 tickets that give you a seat. The Yankees are not far off with $100 and up tickets but they have a lot more tickets to sell than the Rangers with the new Yankee Stadium.
Tickets for the World Series are not available as of yet. But the minute your team clinches the Championship Series you better order your tickets right away. This promises to be a pretty good World Series this year especially if the San Francisco Giants end up playing the New York Yankees. World Series ticket prices will go through the roof!
