by Greg Cullen on Jan.06, 2012, under Entertainment News
Van Halen tour dates for 2012 were announced today after an hour long performance by the band last night at the Cafe Wha? in New York. Van Halen will kick off the tour on February 18 at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, KY and run through June 26 with a concert at the New Orleans Arena. The Van Halen tour will make a two night stand at Madison Square Garden and it looks like additional tour dates could be added if demand is great enough. Van Halen will be touring in support of their new album coming out in early February, A Different Kind of Truth.
Last night’s Van Halen concert was performed at a venue owned by David Lee Roth’s uncle and has seen many great performances over the years. The band kicked off the show with “You Really Got Me” and followed up with many hits including “Panama” and “Jump”. Wolfgang Van Halen will be on the tour replacing Michael Anthony and Kool & the Gang are slated to open some of the tour dates. Van Halen tickets go on sale January 14th.
