Well we can’t say we didn’t expect it but Van Halen have postponed all tour dates after the June 26 tour date in New Orleans. No reason has been given for the unusual timing of the postponements since they will continue to play for another five weeks. Typically the band will say it’s scheduling conflicts which usually means that ticket sales were flat.
Just like Aerosmith, you can never count on Van Halen to hit all the stops on the tour schedule with all the things that tend to crop up on tour but to cancel half the shows is a little unusual even for Van Halen. It sounds like new tour dates for the postponed shows will be announced soon but anything can happen.
Like many of the classic rock tours today the prices may be keeping many loyal Van Halen fans from seeing the concert. Most of the lower level and floor seats are priced at a face value of $167 each and ticket brokers have had better deals than the box office for many of the shows in the premium seats.
Van Halen tickets are still available for the remaining tour dates.
