The first Sting and Paul Simon tour dates for 2014 will be released on Tuesday and the two superstars are expected to kick off the tour in early February. So far 18 dates are expected to be announced for the “Paul Simon and Sting: On Stage Together” tour that starts up on Feb. 8 with more to come.
Paul Simon and Sting once lived in the same building in New York and performed together in May in a benefit for the Robin Hood Foundation which may have been the impetus for getting the two together.
Sting has toured the last 2 years in a row but they weren’t very large tours but this one should hit most of the big markets. His recent album, The Last Ship is quite different from what his fans are familiar with but he’s expected to bring out the hits on this tour as well as new songs.
Paul Simon released his most recent album in 2011, So Beautiful or So What and did a world tour to support it that same year. Both artists are bringing their own bands for a full set each and will perform a few songs together.
