Mick Jagger has been quietly putting together a new band over the last year and a half and they may just go on tour after the new album is released in September. The Rolling Stones have been talking about a new tour for their 50th anniversary next year but there’s still plenty of time for Mick to hit the road with his new bandmates.
Joining Mick Jagger in the new band called Super Heavy will be Dave Stewart, Joss Stone, Damienan Marley and A.R. Rahman. But don’t expect the standard rock and roll to come from this band as they mix the influences of all the members into some heavy reggae, Indian and ballads in some high energy songs.
As for touring Mick Jagger and Super Heavy have not made any plans yet but if all goes well expect to see Mick Jagger tour dates to crop up in the next few months. When the Rolling Stones do get around to announcing the 2012 Rolling Stones tour you can expect much higher ticket prices than any of the previous tours making the Super Heavy tickets a bargain in comparison.
