Axle Rose has filed a counter-suit against Irving Azoff’s Front Line Management to fight back against the bullying he feels Azoff has shown toward him. Rose is saying that Azoff was trying to force him to reunite with his former Guns N’ Roses band mates for a world tour, and if he didn’t do this, he would lose all the support previously promised him for his tour.
Rose appears to have called Azoff’s bluff and went ahead with his own tour without the support of Front Line Management. But Rose feels they owe him for backing out at the last minute after threatening him, and apparently for suing him for going on tour without reuniting with his old band.
If it sounds like the mob, it isn’t. It’s just the new way it’s done in the music business now. Azoff wants to control all the cash flow, in and out of the business, and keep a big chunk for his work for extracting all that new money from long time fans, for the benefit of … the artist.
Yeah right. It’s for the benefit of those that put up the money to get the merger done, the big players. Concert fans are being taken for a ride when acts that are past their prime, or haven’t even gotten there yet, are quite honestly charging more than they are worth.
