NFL Hopes to Sell Plenty of Football Tickets in a Bad Economy

by on Jun.15, 2009, under Discount Ticket Deals, Entertainment News, Sports News, Uncategorized

With the 2009 NFL Football season getting ready to kick off soon there must be some bit of apprehension amongst the NFL owners as to how well football tickets will sell this year. The NBA found out with slower sales during the NBA playoffs and MLB has been dealing with slow sales for months even at the new Yankees Stadium.

With a shorter schedule and lower prices than the NBA the NFL should hold up better than the other sports during this recession, but they won’t be immune so watch for bargains early on the poorer playing teams such as the Oakland Raiders, Detroit Lions, St. Louis Rams and Kansas City Chiefs. But even the best teams such as the Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts may sell out, but the resell market may be way down for NFL teams such as the Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers, so watch for bargains this year. Miley Cyrus Scalping Her Own Tickets? Yes!

by on Jun.08, 2009, under Business News, Entertainment News, Music News, Uncategorized

So the truth comes out and I hope it hurts. Miley Cyrus is apparently going to be offering VIP packages to her shows from the Iloveaccess.com website owned by Ticketmaster’s Front Line Management as reported by Ticketnews and the Wall Street Journal. These packages which currently cost $295 per ticket only guarantee a ticket somewhere in the first 25 rows. Of course they throw in a few worthless trinkets such as the preshow party without Miley Cyrus – no value, a gift bag and laminate – maybe $20, parking – $10, early hassle free entrance to the venue, do they hassle everyone else?, wow!

So for $295 per ticket you get maybe $30 worth of trinkets, parking and less hassle but you get a guarantee of a only an average seat that should be selling for face value, which at Miley’s current rate with service charges is now just under $100 per seat! Wasn’t she like $50 a ticket a year ago? After all the recent charges of ticket brokers ripping off Miley Cyrus fans you have to ask, who’s ripping off who?

Front Line Management came out with the “Paperless Ticket Tour” just for this reason, to take the money ticket brokers used to make and give it to themselves and the artist, both of which slammed brokers for charging too much. They must believe it is ok to charge too much as long as they get the profits! But it doesn’t stop there, more special ticket packages are in the works and all I can say is good luck Miley Cyrus fans, getting those prime tickets just got a llot more expensive. And I haven’t even gotten started about the stupidity of the paperless tickets for 15 year old fans.
