Concert ticket prices range from cheap to expensive

by admin on Sep.08, 2010, under Discount Ticket Deals, Entertainment News

With the economy still in a tailspin you can find ticket deals for some of the artist on tour but for many of the old timers prepare to open your wallet. Concert ticket prices for the George Strait tour with Reba McEntire have been dropping on the secondary market to the point that tomorrows George Strait concert at the Nationwide Arena are selling below face value.

George and Reba are not the only ones having problems selling tickets this year, Adam Lambert, Carrie Underwood and Justin Bieber have had trouble selling tickets for several of their concerts and like the George Strait concerts, prices have fallen below face value for some cities.

Not all concert ticket prices are cheap though. Many of the old timers have very high face values for their concert tickets and prices have not dropped as much. Bands like Kiss, Rush, Roger Waters, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews and Jay-Z have kept their high prices because fans have been buying them up at whatever the price.

Even Lady Gaga has only struggled to sell tickets for a few of her shows on the secondary ticket market. But she has held her own for most of her concerts even with a $175 face vaule ticket. For some of the concerts ticket prices have dropped well before the concert date, for others the prices may not drop until a few days before the concert. And for some such as Rush and the Dave Matthews Band the prices never seem to drop.

Paperless tickets find no fans with parents

by admin on Aug.30, 2010, under Entertainment News

The new paperless tickets being sold for many of the popular concerts these days by Ticketmaster to stop the scalping of tickets has only made it much harder for parents to buy concert tickets for their own kids without attending the concert also. And most fans already know it doesn’t stop the reselling of tickets, there’s just a little more work involved.

Several recent articles have pointed out the problems some fans are having with the new paperless ticketing including one for a Lady Gaga concert by Oregonlive.com and another from the Torontosun.com for a Justin Bieber concert.

Ticket brokers have found a way around the paperless tickets so they only seem to create problems for the fans. So hopefully they will find a better solution than one that makes it a pain in the butt for fans to attend a concert.

Cheap George Strait Tickets on Resell Market

by admin on Aug.17, 2010, under Discount Ticket Deals

George Strait tickets may sell like hotcakes but for his upcoming concerts ticket brokers are selling his best seats at a bargain. You can find great seats for the George Strait and Reba McEntire concerts at close or below the Ticketmaster face value, with the service charges.

The economy has taken its toll on many veteran concert acts this year, sparing some of the new acts such as Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber but others have seen ticket sales plummet and resell tickets going below the face value. Now you can get a better seat from a ticket broker for the same price or not much above the face value for some concerts such as the George Strait and Reba concerts.

As an example you can find tickets for George Strait from Ticketmaster at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio in section 107 row U running $105 per seat, but through Preferredseat.com you can find seats in section 107 row N at $106 each, or Floor 7 Row N at $104 per seat. The best seats are still not that much above the face value compared with many other concerts.

You can find similar discount ticket deals for other George Strait concerts as well. The Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky and Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina have similar discount ticket deals, but the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee has some pretty high ticket prices.

The bottom line is you will not always find the cheapest tickets for concerts from Ticketmaster. You can find some great ticket deals from ticket brokers, even if you are paying a bit more than the face value; you’re getting a much better seat than what’s available from Ticketmaster.
