Lady Gaga Wachovia Center Show Added
by Greg Cullen on Mar.30, 2010, under Entertainment News
Lady Gaga has added another date to her Monster Ball tour with another date at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia for Wednesday September 15. The Lady Gaga tour has added extra concerts in many of her stops on the tour including TD Banknorth, Madison Square Garden and the HP Pavilion in San Jose.
She’s come a long way since November when she was charging $55 per ticket and playing small venues like the Bill Graham Civic in San Francisco, which seats about 3200. Now at $175 a pop and 17,000 seat venues, sold out 6 months in advance, Lady Gaga should be rolling in the $$.
But she’s being managed by Frontline Management and they take their toll on the artist $$ for putting them into those 17,000 seat venues at $175 a pop. But you have to wonder how long Lady Gaga can sustain that revenue stream from concert ticket sales. I mean, just how many times can a fan afford to go to a $175 per seat concert.
Lady Gaga has to hope you can do it at least once every two years. Because that’s what most artist may have to do to keep up the lifestyle and pay the corporate stiffs that run the machine. And for how many years will you pay more and more to see Lady Gaga live in concert? Maybe she’s just taking it while she can, and running all the way to the bank.
Lady Gaga tickets are on sale now with no hidden fees or service charges. If you have to pay big bucks for a Lady Gaga concert ticket, you might as well save a few and buy them from the best place to buy Lady Gaga tickets.
Bob Seger Tour Announced for Fall 2010
by Greg Cullen on Mar.29, 2010, under Entertainment News
Bob Seger tour dates are forthcoming after the singer announced that he will go on tour with his band this fall. Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band rarely go on tour and the last Bob Seger tour in 2006-07 was though to be his last.
Fans of Bob Seger will remember the great album “Live Bullet”, recorded live at Cobo Hall in Detroit, Michigan, Bob’s home state. Seger will perform many of the hits from that live album on the road in 2010 including “Travelin’ Man”, “Beautiful Loser” and “Turn the Page”.
It’s amazing, but back in 1976 when Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band were hitting it big, they were making peanuts compared to the millions that artist command today. In the 1976 issue of Rolling Stone, Bob was commenting on the current tour and the money he was going to make, “At this point we’re sitting pretty good,” he adds, on the eve of his biggest gig, at Pontiac Stadium. “We’ll be Number 41 with a bullet in Billboard next week,” he reports with enthusiasm. “We’re hot and we’re going right into the summer. We’re gonna be making quite a bit of money” His $100,000 minimum at Pontiac compares with $3500-$5000 that the band usually makes as an opening act these days.
Bob Seger tour dates have not been announced yet, but the hope is that this is not a Live Nation tour because of the recent dramatic ticket price hikes and packages that have dramatically escalated the cost of attending a concert, and limited the public’s access to cheap quality tickets. Keep it real Bob, and stay the hell away from the greed that is ruining music today.
