Miley Cyrus Concert Ticket Sales Down, Scalping Down Also
by Greg Cullen on Jun.15, 2009, under Discount Ticket Deals, Entertainment News, Music News
Tickets went on sale this past weekend at Ticketmaster for Miley Cyrus’s 2009 Concert Tour and reports out indicate that her tickets aren’t as hot as they used to be, and the reselling is way off due to the new paperless ticketing system. Some of the concert venues still had lower level seats available as of Sunday and only a few venues may have sold out.
Of course this could be in part due to the high face value of her ticket with the service charges topping out at about $100 per ticket, almost double her previous prices, and the fact that the best seats had a $290 face value, hardly cheap in today’s economy.
The reselling of Miley Cyrus’s tickets appears to be way off as well with only anywhere from a few to several hundred listings showing up on ticket reselling sites PreferredSeat.com, Stubhub and Ticketsnow. Even with the paperless ticketing you can still get a Miley Cyrus concert ticket from the secondary market, just be prepared to get your ticket at the door.

Orlando Magic Ticket Prices Dropping with Their Hopes
by Greg Cullen on Jun.12, 2009, under Discount Ticket Deals, Sports News
The Orlando Magic will be playing game 5 of the NBA Finals this Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers and after the loss last night the prices have taken a tumble. After the game 3 win ticket prices were closer to $200 and up to get into the game. Now tickets are running closer to $140 per seat and may go a little lower.
It hasn’t been this cheap to attend an NBA Finals game in years so now’s your chance.

More Trouble for the Ticketmaster/Live Nation Proposed Merger
by Greg Cullen on Jun.11, 2009, under Business News, Entertainment News, Music News
Looks like the proposed merger between Ticketmaster and Live Nation hit another snag as Britain’s consumer watchdog, The Office of Fair Trading will be referring it to the Competition Commission (Routers). The concern of the group is that there would be less competition in both promoting concerts and the cost of tickets which are kept in check in a competitive market. The US Department of Justice is currently looking into the merger on this side of the Atlantic.
It’s hard to believe that with the absence of competition that anyone could expect a huge company such as Ticketmaster/Live Nation would keep ticket prices down when they have stated ticket prices are way undervalued as it is. They will take more and more tickets for different programs, VIP Seats, Auctions, Fan Clubs etc that bring in much more than the typical face value of the ticket. And the fans will pay until they are chases away by the high prices. Then how will the artists pay for their mansions?
